Robin Thede Biography
Robin Thede is an American comic and comedy writer born in 1979. The Iowa native would pursue a degree in journalism before heading too Chicago and joining a local theater for improv comedy. Robin Thede soon formed her own sketch comedy group and garnered an early internet presence that led to breakout writing roles for her on The Queen Latifah Show and Real Husbands of Hollywood in 2013.
Robin Thede would start writing for late night television shows and star in guest roles on programs like Key & Peele while writing for award shows like BET and NAACP. She would host her own show entitled The Rundown with Robin Thede from 2017 until 2019. The following year, Robin Thede would create, star, and write in the HBO show A Black Lady Sketch Show, which has garnered a loyal fan base and tons of critical praise from many outlets.
Robin Thede has had her work featured in several major publications including The New York Times, Variety Magazine, and Entertainment Weekly, among others. She has been nominated for several awards, including an Emmy Award for her work on A Black Lady Sketch Show. Thede has also served as a guest correspdadnt for E! News and hosted several podcasts.
Robin Thede is currently working on the second season of A Black Lady Sketch Show as well as new programs with Warner Brothers.
