Secondhand Serenade, led by the multi-talented John Vesely, is an American rock band that has left a lasting imprint on the music scene. John Vesely, born on February 5, 1982, found his musical calling in his hometown of Menlo Park, California, in 2004. With a musical upbringing as the son of a jazz musician and years of experience playing in various bands, Vesely's journey led him to explore the power of acoustic music.

In 2005, Vesely released his debut album, "Awake," which he recorded as a demo. This album was a unique creation, utilizing multitrack recording techniques to craft the sound of a full band. The album's promotion primarily occurred on the Secondhand Serenade MySpace page and through local performances. Despite its humble beginnings, "Awake" gained immense online support, making Secondhand Serenade the No. 1 Independent Artist on MySpace, with millions of plays and substantial monthly earnings.

With such remarkable success, record labels took notice, and Vesely signed with Daniel Glass's Glassnote Records, distributed through Warner's Independent Label Group. The reissued version of "Awake" in 2007, featuring two additional songs, earned Vesely his first chartings and accolades.

The journey continued with Secondhand Serenade's second album, "A Twist in My Story," released on February 19, 2008. This album took a different approach, incorporating a full band to recreate songs from "Awake" while introducing a collection of new compositions. The album addressed Vesely's personal life, notably his divorce, adding depth and emotion to his music. The hit single "Fall for You" from this album went Platinum and enjoyed chart success, further solidifying Secondhand Serenade's place in the music industry.

The band's third album, "Hear Me Now," arrived on August 3, 2010, signaling a shift toward a more upbeat sound. The album featured collaborative efforts with artists like Juliet Simms from Automatic Loveletter and included tracks such as "Something More."

In 2012, John Vesely embarked on a new chapter by initiating a Pledgemusic campaign to fund his next album, expressing his desire to break free from industry constraints. His journey led him to record an acoustic remake of "A Twist in My Story" and eventually to release the album "Undefeated."

Throughout the years, John Vesely's musical evolution has seen collaborations, cover songs, and remastered releases. He even formed a musical partnership with Veronica Ballestrini, known as The Rebel Roads, with whom he released the single "First to Know."

In 2017, Secondhand Serenade marked a significant milestone with the release of "Awake: Remixed & Remastered, 10 Years & 10,000 Tears Later." This compilation, produced and distributed by Glassnote Records, included new tracks and showcased Vesely's enduring appreciation for his fans and his remarkable journey from MySpace to the broader music world.
