Joe Perry, born Joseph Anthony Pereira on September 10, 1950, is an iconic American musician recognized as the founding member and lead guitarist of the legendary rock band Aerosmith. He's also delved into solo work with his band, the Joe Perry Project, and joined forces with Alice Cooper and Johnny Depp in the supergroup Hollywood Vampires. Perry's impact on the music world is underscored by his inclusion in Rolling Stone's list of The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time and his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of Aerosmith.

Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Perry grew up in Hopedale, aspiring to be a marine biologist. Despite academic challenges due to undiagnosed ADHD, he was sent to Vermont Academy to improve his focus. There, he was introduced to a world of music that transformed his life, profoundly influenced by bands like the Yardbirds and the Beatles. Perry began playing the guitar at a young age, despite being left-handed, and honed his skills.

In the late 1960s, Perry formed The Jam Band with Tom Hamilton, later joined by Steven Tyler, Brad Whitford, and Joey Kramer, thus creating the iconic Aerosmith.
